About us

Hello I'm Liz, owner of Cookridge Canine Care. Bessie is my twelve year old black labrador.

Background

After enjoying nine years in the private sector, fourteen years as a primary school teacher and three years teaching adults, I decided to combine my love of education with my passion for dogs and established Cookridge Canine Care in 2013.

I initially set the business up as a home day care and boarding service, and alongside this I studied and qualified with The British College of Canine Studies to obtain my advanced level 4 qualification in canine behaviour.  Although I got a great deal out of my work with the day care and boarding dogs, my passion was to work with dogs who, for whatever reason, struggle with day to day life, and as it became increasingly difficult to run both aspects of the business side by side, I decided to dedicate my working hours to those dogs who need me most and, with a heavy heart, I finally closed my doors to day care and boarding dogs in 2020.

I have worked with many clients and their dogs, helping them resolve a wide range of behavioural issues from anxiety to aggression, lead pulling to excessive barking but, not wanting to rest on my laurels, my education into dog psychology continues through both formal and informal methods!

I look forward to meeting you.

Liz
